DECENTRALIZED BREAKTHROUGH

ITT's NitroStation™ alters the economics of African soil enrichment.

ITT has developed a breakthrough technology for producing affordable, carbon-free fertilizer. In small, containerized systems, it produces Nitrolyzer™—an easy-to-use, shelf-stable liquid nitrogen fertilizer—enabling decentralized production without the need for conventional, capital-intensive factories. The result is a scalable solution with the potential to improve productivity and livelihoods for millions of smallholder farmers across Sub-Saharan Africa and beyond.

LOCALLY ENGINEERED & ASSEMBLED

The NitroStation™ was engineered in India and built for local assembly in Kenya and other emerging economies across Sub-Saharan Africa.

THE CRITTICAL CRISIS

Africa needs more fertilizer. Getting it there is the challenge.

A reliable food system depends on reliable access to nutrients. When fertilizer is scarce or expensive, farmers face a difficult trade-off: produce more from depleted soils or pay more for inputs.

The opportunity is not simply to make more fertilizer. It is to make fertilizer access more resilient.

Conventional Import Dependence

Traditional fertilizer relies on enormous, multi-billion-dollar factories. Price volatility and continuous reliance on fossil-fuel methane further isolate African agrarian communities.

OPERATIONAL EFFICIENCY

Unrivaled stability, 50% lower capital expenditure.

Our green ammonia production system costs less than 50% of comparable setups worldwide. The NitroStation™ directly converts that ammonia into safe, shelf-stable liquid Nitrolyzer™ containing 17% nitrogen—making it incredibly simple to distribute, handle, and store.

HARVEST DATA

Proven 2x Yield Boost in Mwea, Kenya

Recent field trials in Mwea, Kenya prove that Nitrolyzer™ doubles crop productivity compared to unfertilized soil across every level of crop health:

Field Tonnage

Plant Yield

Panicle Weight

Doubled overall output (6.3 t/ha vs. 3.1 t/ha)

Doubled yield per individual plant (27.7 g vs. 14.1 g).

Doubled grain weight per panicle (3.1 g vs. 1.5 g).

From overall field tonnage down to individual grain weight, local data demonstrates that this locally produced, liquid green nitrogen fertilizer maximizes soil potential and doubles harvest output.

Commercial-Grade Performance at 40% Lower Cost

Recent August 2026 field trials in Mwea, Kenya prove that Nitrolyzer™ eliminates high input costs without sacrificing harvest performance.

When benchmarked directly against conventional commercial fertilizer, Nitrolyzer delivered identical yields (6.2 t/ha vs. 6.2 t/ha) at approximately 40% lower cost.

Local trial data confirms that sustainable, green nitrogen can match commercial outputs while significantly improving smallholder farmer profitability

Zero-Emission Farming: Almost 100% Carbon Reduction

Transforming global agriculture requires tackling nitrogen fertilizer's high carbon footprint.

Rigorous lab and field testing confirm that NitroStation™ eliminates virtually 100% of the carbon emissions generated by traditional ammonia manufacturing and long-distance shipping.

By pairing market-leading crop yields with decentralized, zero-emission production, Nitrolyzer™ delivers high productivity without environmental compromise.

88% of Farmers Ready to Adopt Liquid Fertilizer in Mwea

Agricultural innovation relies on field adoption.

August 2026 survey data from Mwea smallholders reveals that 88% of farmers are open to trying liquid fertilizer either immediately or when paired with training and field demonstrations.

Supported by cost savings and localized trial evidence, this strong willingness to adopt highlights how practical training successfully overcomes traditional barriers to farming innovation.
